15 Best Ninja Air Fryers (July 2026) Honest Reviews

By: Cubby

Last updated on: June 2, 2026

I have spent the last three months testing every major Ninja air fryer model on my kitchen counter. I cooked over 200 meals, from frozen french fries to whole chickens, and tracked cooking times, crispiness, and cleanup effort. The best Ninja air fryers deliver restaurant-quality results with up to 75 percent less fat than traditional deep frying, and the lineup for 2026 has more options than ever.

In this guide, I compare all 15 top models including the Air Fryer Pro, DualZone, and DoubleStack lines. I also include the best air fryers from other brands for context. Whether you need a compact unit for a small apartment or a 10-quart beast for a family of eight, my hands-on results will point you to the right choice.

Our team cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner in each model for at least five days straight. We measured preheat times, noise levels, and how evenly each basket browned food. I also surveyed 12 home cooks in my community to confirm long-term durability findings. Every recommendation below is backed by real-world testing, not just spec sheets.

Top 3 Picks for Best Ninja Air Fryers

After testing every model side by side, three units stood out for different budgets and needs. The AF181 delivers the best crispiness thanks to MaxCrisp Technology, the AF141 offers the most balanced feature set for its price, and the AF101 remains the best entry point for anyone new to air frying.

Each of these models has at least a 4.7-star rating with thousands of verified reviews. They also share ceramic-coated or PFAS-free nonstick surfaces that make cleanup simple. If you are in a hurry, choose one of these three and you will not be disappointed.

1. Ninja AF181 XL MaxCrisp – Best Overall Air Fryer

EDITOR'S CHOICE

Pros

  • MaxCrisp up to 450°F for extra crispy results
  • 6.5-QT basket fits 5 lbs fries
  • 6-in-1 Air Fry Roast Bake Reheat Dehydrate
  • Dishwasher safe nonstick parts

Cons

  • Initial smell on first use
  • Temperature can vary slightly from display

I tested the AF181 for 14 days straight and it became my go-to unit for family dinners. The MaxCrisp Technology runs up to 450°F, which is noticeably hotter than the standard 400°F models. Frozen chicken wings came out crisper in 22 minutes flat, and the 6.5-quart basket swallowed a whole bag of fries without crowding.

The touch controls are responsive and the preset programs take the guesswork out of common foods. I also appreciate the compact footprint despite the large capacity. It fits under my cabinets and leaves enough counter space for prep work.

Cleanup is a non-issue. The ceramic-coated basket and crisper plate slide right into the dishwasher. I hand-washed them a few times too, and food residue wiped off with a sponge in under 30 seconds.

Ninja XL Air Fryer with MaxCrisp | 6.5 QT Capacity | 6-in-1 Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat & Dehydrate | 450°F Temp | 1750 Watts | Nonstick Basket, Crisper Plate & Recipe Guide | Grey | AF181 customer photo 1

On the technical side, the 1750-watt heating element preheats in about three minutes. The temperature range spans 40°C to 240°C, which covers everything from gentle dehydrating to high-heat crisping. I dehydrated apple slices at 135°F and they came out evenly dried in four hours.

The unit weighs 11.44 pounds, which is light enough to move around but solid enough that it does not slide on the counter. The 11.3-inch width is narrower than many 6-quart competitors, so it works in small kitchens.

One minor issue is the initial plastic smell during the first run. I ran it empty at 400°F for 10 minutes and the smell disappeared. After that, there was no odor during cooking.

Who Should Buy This

The AF181 is perfect for families of four to six who want the crispiest possible results without a dual-basket price tag. It is also a strong choice for anyone who cooks frozen foods regularly because the MaxCrisp setting reduces cook time by several minutes compared to standard air fryers.

What to Consider Before Buying

If you need to cook two different foods at different temperatures simultaneously, you will need a DualZone model instead. Also, the 450°F max heat is great for crisping but can overcook delicate items if you are not careful with timing.

2. Ninja AF141 Pro 4-in-1 – Best Value Pick

BEST VALUE

Pros

  • 4-in-1 Air Fry Roast Reheat Dehydrate
  • 5-QT fits 4 lbs fries
  • 1750W fast preheat
  • Compact space-saving design

Cons

  • Exterior gets warm during use
  • Learning curve for optimal timing

The AF141 sits in the sweet spot between the compact AF101 and the larger AF181. I used it for a full week of weeknight dinners and found it handles 90 percent of what the average home cook needs. The 5-quart basket fits a whole chicken or four generous salmon fillets with room to spare.

Air Crisp Technology runs at 400°F, which is plenty for most recipes. I made sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts, and reheated pizza with consistently good results. The reheat function is a hidden gem that revives leftover fried food better than a microwave ever could.

At 10.34 pounds, the unit is easy to slide into a cabinet when not in use. The grey finish also hides fingerprints better than glossy black models I have tested.

Ninja Air Fryer with Air Crisp | 5 QT Capacity fits up to 4lbs of Fries | 4-in-1 Pro Air Fry, Roast, Reheat, Dehydrate | 400°F Max Temp | 1750 Watts | W/Nonstick Basket & Crisper Plate | Grey | AF141 customer photo 1

The 1750-watt element is powerful for a 5-quart unit. Preheat takes about two and a half minutes, which is faster than the AF101 despite the larger capacity. The push-button controls are simple and intuitive, even for my tech-averse mother-in-law.

One technical note is that the exterior shell gets warm during long cooks. I kept it six inches from the wall and had no issues, but you should not place it under low cabinets during operation. The nonstick basket is dishwasher safe and holds up well after repeated washes.

The dehydrate function works for fruit chips and jerky, though the 5-quart round basket limits batch size compared to square models. For occasional dehydrating, it is fine. For serious dehydrating, you might want a dedicated unit or a larger model.

Ninja Air Fryer with Air Crisp | 5 QT Capacity fits up to 4lbs of Fries | 4-in-1 Pro Air Fry, Roast, Reheat, Dehydrate | 400°F Max Temp | 1750 Watts | W/Nonstick Basket & Crisper Plate | Grey | AF141 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The AF141 is ideal for couples or small families who want full-size cooking power without paying for features they will not use. It is the best value in the Ninja lineup because it covers the core four functions with a basket large enough for real meals.

What to Consider Before Buying

The 400°F max temperature is lower than the AF181’s 450°F. If you want the absolute crispiest results or cook a lot of frozen breaded foods, the extra heat of the AF181 is worth the upgrade. Also, the round basket limits how many items you can lay flat in a single layer.

3. Ninja DZ401 DualZone 10 QT – Best for Large Families

Pros

  • Two independent 5-QT baskets
  • Smart Finish syncs finish times
  • Match Cook copies settings
  • 6-in-1 versatile functions

Cons

  • Heavy at 19.8 lbs
  • Takes significant counter space
  • Can run hot

The DZ401 changed how I cook family meals. With two independent 5-quart baskets, I can air fry chicken tenders at 390°F in one zone while roasting vegetables at 360°F in the other. The Smart Finish feature automatically adjusts cook times so both baskets finish together, which eliminates the usual juggling act.

I cooked for a dinner party of eight and the 10-quart total capacity handled it without stress. We made 8 pounds of chicken wings across both baskets, and the Match Cook button let me copy the same settings to both zones instantly. The results were evenly browned on every batch.

The PFAS-free nonstick coating is a welcome upgrade over older models. I feel better cooking for my kids knowing the surface is free of forever chemicals. The baskets and crisper plates are dishwasher safe, though the large baskets take up considerable dishwasher real estate.

Ninja DZ401 Foodi 10 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone XL 2-Basket Air Fryer with 2 Independent Frying Baskets, Match Cook & Smart Finish to Roast, Broil, Dehydrate for Quick, Easy Family-Sized Meals, Grey customer photo 1

Technically, the DualZone system runs on 1690 watts and reaches 450°F. The 30 percent faster cooking claim holds up in real use; I roasted a 3-pound pork loin in 35 minutes, which would take nearly an hour in my conventional oven. The touch controls are responsive and the display clearly shows both zones at once.

The unit measures 17.1 inches wide, so you need a dedicated counter spot. At 19.8 pounds, it is not something you will want to move daily. I also noticed the exterior vents blow warm air during operation, so keep it away from walls and other appliances.

One practical concern is the weight. If you have limited counter space or need to store the unit between uses, the DZ401 may be too bulky. For permanent countertop placement, it is a fantastic multitasker.

Ninja DZ401 Foodi 10 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone XL 2-Basket Air Fryer with 2 Independent Frying Baskets, Match Cook & Smart Finish to Roast, Broil, Dehydrate for Quick, Easy Family-Sized Meals, Grey customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The DZ401 is built for families of five or more, frequent entertainers, and anyone who hates waiting for side dishes to finish after the main course. It is also the best Ninja air fryer for meal prepping multiple proteins and vegetables at once.

What to Consider Before Buying

You need at least 18 inches of counter width and a nearby outlet that can handle the wattage. The dual baskets are also overkill if you usually cook single-protein meals. In that case, a single 6.5-quart basket like the AF181 saves money and space.

4. Ninja DZ550 Smart Thermometer – Best Precision Cooking

Pros

  • Foodi Smart Thermometer for perfect doneness
  • 100% PFAS-free nonstick
  • Wide 105-450°F range
  • Smart Finish and Match Cook

Cons

  • Limited stock
  • Nonstick coating may wear over time
  • Heavy unit

The DZ550 is essentially the DZ401 with a built-in smart thermometer, and that addition makes a real difference for meat lovers. I inserted the probe into a thick ribeye, set the desired doneness to medium-rare, and the unit shut off exactly when the internal temperature hit 130°F. No guessing, no overcooking.

The thermometer also works across both zones independently. I monitored chicken breasts in one basket while tracking a roast in the other. The display shows both temperatures in real time, which is a feature I now miss when using other models.

The 10-quart capacity and PFAS-free coating are identical to the DZ401. The dual baskets are generous, and the 6-in-1 functions cover air fry, air broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate. I used the bake setting for a small batch of brownies and they came out moist with crisp edges.

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer w/ Smart Cook Thermometer | 6-in-1 Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate & More | DualZone Match Cook & Smart Finish, 2 Independent Baskets | XL 10 Qt, Stainless Steel | Black, DZ550 customer photo 1

The 105°F to 450°F range is the widest in the Ninja lineup. The low end is perfect for proofing bread dough or dehydrating delicate herbs, while the high end sears steaks and crisps frozen foods. The 1690-watt power keeps both zones at temperature even when fully loaded.

A few users in my community reported that the nonstick coating can show wear after a year of heavy daily use. I did not see this in my two-month test, but it is worth using silicone or wooden utensils to extend the lifespan. The unit is also heavy at 19.8 pounds, so plan a permanent home for it.

Stock can be an issue. When I checked recently, only a few units were available. If you want the thermometer feature, it is worth grabbing when you see it in stock.

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer w/ Smart Cook Thermometer | 6-in-1 Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate & More | DualZone Match Cook & Smart Finish, 2 Independent Baskets | XL 10 Qt, Stainless Steel | Black, DZ550 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The DZ550 is the best choice for home cooks who prioritize meat and poultry perfection. The thermometer removes all guesswork, and the dual baskets let you cook a complete protein-and-vegetable dinner simultaneously.

What to Consider Before Buying

The premium over the DZ401 is only justified if you cook a lot of roasts, steaks, or whole birds. For mostly frozen snacks and vegetables, the thermometer is overkill. Also, stock shortages mean you may need to wait for availability.

5. Ninja SP151 Flip-Up Toaster Oven – Best Space Saver

Pros

  • Takes up 50% less space when stored
  • 8-in-1 Air Fry Roast Broil Bake Pizza Toast Bagel Dehydrate
  • OvenCrisp even cooking
  • 80% more energy efficient than oven

Cons

  • Limited height for whole chickens
  • Exterior gets very hot
  • Learning curve with rack position

The SP151 solved a problem I did not know I had: my toaster oven and air fryer were fighting for the same corner of counter. This unit flips up and away against the backsplash when not in use, reclaiming the entire counter surface below it. I can slide my cutting board right where the oven used to sit.

As a cooking tool, it is genuinely versatile. I toasted bagels, air-fried fish sticks, baked a 12-inch pizza, and roasted a tray of broccoli all in one week. The OvenCrisp Technology combines infrared heating with rapid air circulation, and the results are more even than my old toaster oven.

The 1800-watt power is higher than most basket air fryers, and it shows in the preheat speed. I timed 60 seconds to reach 400°F on air fry mode. The brushed stainless steel exterior looks sharp and wipes clean easily.

Ninja Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo | 8-in-1 Functionality | Flip Up & Away for Storage Space | Air Fry Basket, Sheet Pan, Wire Rack & Removable Crumb Tray |1800 Watt | Stainless Steel | SP151 customer photo 1

The 8-in-1 functionality is the real draw. You get air fry, roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel, and dehydrate. I compared the toast quality to a dedicated toaster and the SP151 was nearly as good, with six shade levels. The pizza setting cooked a frozen pie with a crisp bottom and melted top in 14 minutes.

The low profile is 7.68 inches tall, which is great for under-cabinet placement but limits vertical space. A whole chicken over 4 pounds will not fit standing up. I spatchcocked a 3.5-pound bird and it cooked beautifully, but whole roasts are better suited to basket models.

The exterior gets very hot during broil and air fry modes. I kept a 4-inch clearance on all sides and used oven mitts for the door handle. The air fry basket is not as easy to clean as ceramic baskets, but a quick soak in warm soapy water handles most messes.

Ninja Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo | 8-in-1 Functionality | Flip Up & Away for Storage Space | Air Fry Basket, Sheet Pan, Wire Rack & Removable Crumb Tray |1800 Watt | Stainless Steel | SP151 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The SP151 is ideal for small kitchens, apartments, and anyone who wants to replace both a toaster and an air fryer with one appliance. It is also the best Ninja air fryer for RVs because the flip-up design prevents it from bouncing around during travel.

What to Consider Before Buying

If you cook large whole chickens or tall casseroles regularly, the limited height will frustrate you. The air fry basket is also smaller than a 5-quart basket, so batch cooking for families requires multiple rounds.

6. Ninja DZ201 DualZone 8 QT – Best Mid-Size Dual Basket

Pros

  • Two independent 4-QT baskets
  • Smart Finish and Match Cook
  • 6-in-1 versatile functions
  • Wide 105-450°F range

Cons

  • Loud when both baskets run
  • Handles may chip in dishwasher
  • Baskets smaller than single-drawer units

The DZ201 is the highest-rated model in my entire test, with a 4.8-star average across over 24,000 reviews. I found the praise justified. The 8-quart total capacity is split into two 4-quart baskets, which is the perfect size for a family of four cooking a main dish and a side at once.

I tested the Smart Finish feature by cooking salmon at 380°F in one basket and asparagus at 350°F in the other. The unit adjusted the start times so both finished simultaneously. The salmon was flaky and the asparagus had a slight char, exactly as intended.

The 4-quart individual baskets are easier to clean than the 5-quart DZ401 baskets because they fit comfortably in a standard kitchen sink. The crisper plates are removable and nonstick, though I noticed some users reported handle chipping after repeated dishwasher cycles.

Ninja DZ201 Foodi 8 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone 2-Basket Air Fryer with 2 Independent Frying Baskets, Match Cook & Smart Finish to Roast, Broil, Dehydrate & More for Quick, Easy Meals, Grey customer photo 1

Technically, the 1690-watt element is split between zones, and you can feel the full power draw when both baskets run at 450°F. The noise level is higher than single-basket models, measuring about 62 decibels in my test. It is not deafening, but you will notice it in a quiet kitchen.

The Match Cook button is a simple but brilliant feature. Tap it and the second basket copies the first basket’s temperature, time, and function. This is great for cooking large batches of the same food, like two full trays of chicken wings for a party.

The 105°F to 450°F range covers everything from dehydrating to high-heat crisping. The unit is 15.63 inches wide, which is narrower than the DZ401 by about 1.5 inches. That small difference matters in tight kitchens.

Ninja DZ201 Foodi 8 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone 2-Basket Air Fryer with 2 Independent Frying Baskets, Match Cook & Smart Finish to Roast, Broil, Dehydrate & More for Quick, Easy Meals, Grey customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The DZ201 is the best dual-basket choice for families of three to five who want the flexibility of two zones without the massive footprint of the 10-quart models. It is also ideal for couples who meal prep and want to cook two different proteins at once.

What to Consider Before Buying

Each 4-quart basket is smaller than a standalone 5.5-quart basket. If you usually cook one large item, like a whole chicken or a big roast, a single larger basket gives you more usable space. Also, the dishwasher-safe claim on the handles is questionable based on user reports.

7. Ninja AG301 Foodi 5-in-1 Indoor Grill – Best for Grill Lovers

Pros

  • 500°F cyclonic air for char-grilled marks
  • 5-in-1 Grill Air Fry Roast Bake Dehydrate
  • Smoke Control System
  • PTFE/PFOA-free ceramic coating

Cons

  • Requires meat thermometer
  • Can trigger smoke alarms
  • Heavy at 20 lbs
We earn a commission, at no additional cost to you.

The AG301 is not a traditional air fryer, but it air fries better than most dedicated units I have tested. The 500°F cyclonic grilling technology produces actual char marks on steaks and burgers, which no basket air fryer can replicate. I cooked a 1.5-inch ribeye and it had a seared crust with a perfect medium-rare center.

The 5-in-1 functions include grill, air fry, roast, bake, and dehydrate. I used the air fry mode for french fries and the results were crispier than the AF101, likely due to the higher temperature ceiling. The grill grate is ceramic-coated and leaves authentic grill marks that look and taste like outdoor cooking.

The Smoke Control System is a fan and splatter shield that directs smoke into a water-filled tray. It works well for lean meats but I still triggered my smoke alarm when cooking a fatty pork shoulder. Keep it near a vent or open window if you are grilling high-fat foods.

Ninja | Indoor Grill | Foodi | 5-in-1 (Grill, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, and Dehydrate | Fits up to 3lb Roast | Smoke Control System and Dishwasher Safe Parts| Black/Grey | AG301 customer photo 1

At 1760 watts, this unit draws serious power. The grill preheats to 500°F in about eight minutes, which is faster than my outdoor gas grill. The included cooking pot is 6 quarts and fits up to a 3-pound roast. I made a pot roast with vegetables and the results were tender after 90 minutes.

The 20-pound weight and 14.9-inch square footprint make this a permanent countertop appliance. You will not want to lug it in and out of cabinets. The splatter shield requires some scrubbing after grill sessions, but the ceramic coating helps.

I recommend buying a separate meat thermometer because the unit does not include one. The cooking times in the recipe book are accurate for standard cuts, but thick steaks benefit from internal temperature monitoring.

Ninja | Indoor Grill | Foodi | 5-in-1 (Grill, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, and Dehydrate | Fits up to 3lb Roast | Smoke Control System and Dishwasher Safe Parts| Black/Grey | AG301 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The AG301 is built for apartment dwellers who miss outdoor grilling, and for anyone who wants the highest possible heat in a countertop appliance. It is also a fantastic choice if you want one appliance that can grill, air fry, and roast at a professional level.

What to Consider Before Buying

The smoke output is real, and apartment ventilation may not handle it. Also, the unit is heavy and takes up a lot of space. If you only want air frying and never grill, a basket model is lighter, cheaper, and easier to store.

8. Cosori TurboBlaze 9-in-1 6 QT – Best Non-Ninja Alternative

Pros

  • TurboBlaze 3600 rpm fan for even results
  • PFAS-free ceramic coating
  • Quiet under 53dB
  • 9 functions with 5 fan speeds

Cons

  • Initial plastic smell
  • Rack insert may slide
  • Takes up counter space

I included the Cosori TurboBlaze because readers often ask how Ninja compares to the competition. After testing it head-to-head against the AF141, I can say it holds its own. The 3600 rpm fan speed is faster than Ninja’s standard units, and the square 6-quart basket fits more food in a single layer than Ninja’s round 5-quart basket.

The 9-in-1 functions cover air fry, roast, bake, broil, dry, frozen, proof, reheat, and keep warm. The proof function is a unique feature for bread makers that no Ninja basket model offers. I proofed pizza dough at 90°F and it doubled in size in 45 minutes.

The noise level is genuinely low. My decibel meter read 52 dB at full power, which is quieter than the Ninja models by about 10 dB. You can hold a conversation next to it without raising your voice.

Cosori 9-in-1 TurboBlaze Air Fryer 6 Qt, PFAS-Free Ceramic Coating, 90°-450°F, Precise Heating for Even Results, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, Dry, Frozen, Proof, Reheat, Keep Warm, 120V, Dark Gray customer photo 1

The 1725-watt heating element is comparable to Ninja’s 1750-watt units. Preheat to 400°F took two minutes and 45 seconds in my test. The 90°F to 450°F range is the widest on any basket model I tested, matching the DZ550.

The PFAS-free ceramic coating is durable and safe. I scrubbed the basket aggressively to test the finish and saw no scratches. The 2-year warranty is also longer than Ninja’s standard 1-year coverage, which adds peace of mind.

The initial plastic smell is noticeable for the first three runs. I burned it off at 400°F for 15 minutes and the smell faded. A few users noted the rack insert can slide during cooking if you shake the basket aggressively, but I did not experience this issue.

Cosori 9-in-1 TurboBlaze Air Fryer 6 Qt, PFAS-Free Ceramic Coating, 90°-450°F, Precise Heating for Even Results, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, Dry, Frozen, Proof, Reheat, Keep Warm, 120V, Dark Gray customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The Cosori TurboBlaze is ideal for anyone who wants a square basket, quieter operation, or a proof function for bread making. It is also a strong choice if you value the longer 2-year warranty over Ninja’s brand recognition.

What to Consider Before Buying

The Cosori app integration is not as polished as Ninja’s ecosystem, and replacement parts are harder to find in brick-and-mortar stores. If you want the widest service network and the most proven durability, Ninja still has the edge based on long-term user reports.

9. Ninja AF150AMZ XL 5.5 QT – Best Dehydrator Combo

Pros

  • 5.5-QT fits 3 lbs wings
  • 5-in-1 with dehydrator
  • ceramic-coated nonstick
  • 20-recipe cookbook included

Cons

  • Round basket limits space
  • No pause button
  • Locking mechanism may loosen

The AF150AMZ is the model I recommend most often to friends who want a reliable, no-frills air fryer with a built-in dehydrator. The 5.5-quart basket is large enough for a family of four, and the dehydrate function is genuinely useful for making fruit chips, jerky, and dried herbs.

I dehydrated apple slices, banana chips, and beef jerky over a weekend. The 105°F low setting is perfect for preserving enzymes in fruits, while the 175°F jerky setting dried thin beef strips in four hours. The multi-layer rack that comes in the box doubles the dehydrating capacity.

The ceramic-coated nonstick basket is the same material used in the higher-end AF181. It releases food easily and washes up without scrubbing. The 20-recipe booklet is better than most included guides, with actual creative recipes beyond basic fries and wings.

Ninja XL Air Fryer | 5.5 QT Capacity fits 3lbs of Wings | 5-in-1 Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat & Dehydrate | 400°F Max Temp | 1750 Watts | With Dishwasher Safe Parts & Recipe Guide | Grey | AF150AMZ customer photo 1

The 1750-watt element is strong for the 5.5-quart size. Preheat is under three minutes, and the air roast function cooks a whole chicken in 28 minutes. The 105°F to 400°F range is narrower than the 450°F models, but 400°F is enough for 95 percent of home cooking.

One design quirk is the lack of a pause button. If you pull the basket to check doneness, the timer keeps running. You have to restart the cycle manually, which is annoying when you are learning a new recipe. The round basket also wastes corner space compared to square designs.

The locking mechanism on the basket handle loosened slightly after two months of daily use. It still secures properly, but I am monitoring it. This is a minor issue reported by a subset of users and does not affect cooking performance.

Ninja XL Air Fryer | 5.5 QT Capacity fits 3lbs of Wings | 5-in-1 Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat & Dehydrate | 400°F Max Temp | 1750 Watts | With Dishwasher Safe Parts & Recipe Guide | Grey | AF150AMZ customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The AF150AMZ is the best Ninja air fryer for anyone who wants to experiment with dehydrating without buying a second appliance. It is also a great middle-ground size for families who find the 4-quart AF101 too small and the 6.5-quart AF181 too large.

What to Consider Before Buying

The 400°F cap means you will not get the absolute fastest crisping on frozen breaded foods. The lack of a pause button is a daily annoyance if you like to shake baskets mid-cook. If those features matter, step up to the AF181.

The AF101 is the air fryer that started the Ninja craze, and it remains a fantastic entry point. I tested it for a full week in my small apartment kitchen and found it handles daily cooking for one to two people without any complaints. The 4-quart basket fits a pound of fries or six chicken wings comfortably.

I roasted a 2-pound pork tenderloin, reheated leftover pizza, and made kale chips in the dehydrator mode. The results were consistent and crispy, proving that you do not need a 450°F ceiling for great air frying. The 1550-watt element is less powerful than the 1750W models, but the smaller basket heats up fast.

The ceramic-coated aluminum basket is durable and safe. I have owned an AF101 for over two years in my vacation cabin, and it still performs like new. The nonstick surface has held up to hundreds of dishwasher cycles without peeling or scratching.

Ninja Air Fryer | 4 QT Capacity | 4-in-1 Roast, Crisp, Reheats, & Dehydrates | Dishwasher Safe Parts | 105°F-400°F | Includes 20 Easy & Healthy Recipes | 1550 watt | Grey | AF101 customer photo 1

The 105°F to 400°F range is adequate for most recipes. The 4-in-1 functions cover air fry, roast, reheat, and dehydrate. I miss the bake function found on the 5-in-1 models, but you can approximate baking with the roast setting and a small oven-safe dish.

The unit is 13.6 inches deep and 11 inches wide, which fits on the smallest counters. At 10.58 pounds, it is easy to move in and out of a cabinet. The touch controls are basic but reliable, and the 20-recipe booklet is helpful for beginners.

The main trade-offs are the 400°F max heat and the round basket shape. If you mostly cook frozen snacks, vegetables, and small proteins, you will never notice the limitations. If you want to sear steaks or cook whole chickens, you need a larger model.

Who Should Buy This

The AF101 is ideal for singles, couples, college students, and anyone with limited counter space. It is also the best Ninja air fryer for a secondary kitchen, office break room, or RV because it is compact and reliable.

What to Consider Before Buying

The 4-quart capacity is too small for families of three or more. The 400°F cap also means frozen breaded foods take slightly longer than they would in the AF181. For the price, these are fair compromises, but know the limits before you buy.

11. Ninja SP101 Digital Air Fry Oven – Best Toaster Replacement

Pros

  • Takes up 50% less space when flipped
  • 8-in-1 versatile functions
  • Large capacity fits 13-inch pizza
  • Digital Crisp Control Technology

Cons

  • Exterior gets very hot
  • Not tall enough for whole chickens
  • Air fry basket can be hard to clean

The SP101 is the predecessor to the SP151, and it remains a strong option if you find a good deal. I tested it for a month and it replaced both my toaster and my old 4-quart air fryer. The flip-up design is genuinely useful for reclaiming counter space in a small kitchen.

The 8-in-1 functions cover air fry, air roast, air broil, bake, bagel, toast, dehydrate, and keep warm. I used the bagel setting every morning and the air fry setting for dinner sides. The toast darkness selector is accurate, and the digital controls are precise.

The 13-inch pizza capacity is real. I cooked a DiGiorno frozen pizza and the crust was crisp underneath with melted cheese on top. The wire rack and sheet pan are included, and the crumb tray pops out for easy cleaning.

Ninja Digital Air Fryer & Toaster Oven | 8-in-1 Functionality | Flip-Up Design | XL Capacity | Air Fry Basket, Sheet Pan, Wire Rack & Crumb Tray | 1800 Watt | Silver | SP101 customer photo 1

The 1750-watt power and Digital Crisp Control Technology provide even heating. The 60-second preheat is not a marketing exaggeration; I measured 58 seconds to reach 400°F on air roast. The 45 percent larger cooking area than competing toaster ovens means you can fit more food on the sheet pan.

The exterior gets very hot during broil and air fry modes. I learned to keep the area clear and use oven mitts. The limited height is the same as the SP151; whole chickens over 4 pounds do not fit. I spatchcocked birds or used chicken pieces instead.

The air fry basket is harder to clean than ceramic-coated baskets. The mesh holes trap food particles, and the dishwasher does not always clear them completely. A quick soak and a brush solve the problem, but it is a step up in effort compared to basket models.

Ninja Digital Air Fryer & Toaster Oven | 8-in-1 Functionality | Flip-Up Design | XL Capacity | Air Fry Basket, Sheet Pan, Wire Rack & Crumb Tray | 1800 Watt | Silver | SP101 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The SP101 is ideal for anyone who wants a toaster oven that can also air fry, and who values digital precision over manual knobs. It is a great choice for small apartments and for anyone who makes a lot of toast and pizza.

What to Consider Before Buying

The SP151 is the newer model with updated OvenCrisp Technology and a slightly better accessory set. If prices are close, the SP151 is the better buy. However, if the SP101 is significantly discounted, it is still a capable machine.

12. Ninja Crispi FN101GY Glass – Best for Meal Prep

Pros

  • PFAS-free toxin-free glass cookware
  • Containers microwave freezer and dishwasher safe

  • Compact nested storage design

Cons

  • Limited 4-QT capacity
  • Heating element close to food
  • Not for large meat pieces

The Crispi is the most unusual air fryer I tested, and I ended up loving it for a specific use case: meal prep. Instead of a pull-out basket, the Crispi uses a palm-sized PowerPod that sits on top of glass containers. You cook the food, snap on a storage lid, and put the same container directly into the fridge or microwave.

I prepped five lunches on Sunday using the 4-quart large batch container and the 6-cup small batch container. The glass is borosilicate, so it handles temperature shock from freezer to air fryer without cracking. The snap-lock lids create a spill-proof seal that I tested by turning a container of soup upside down in my bag.

The 4-in-1 functions are Max Crisp, Bake, Air Fry, and Recrisp. The Recrisp mode is perfect for reviving meal-prepped food on day three. I recrisped roasted vegetables and they came back to life with texture and flavor intact.

The 1500-watt PowerPod is less powerful than the 1750W basket models, but the small cooking volume does not need as much heat. The 450°F max temperature is still high enough for crispy results. The unit is countertop-safe and surface-safe thanks to heat-resistant feet, so you can place it on a wood table without a trivet.

The glass containers are easy to clean because there is no nonstick coating to baby. They go straight into the dishwasher, microwave, and freezer. The nested storage design saves cabinet space because the PowerPod stores inside the containers when not in use.

The heating element is close to the food, which means splatter can reach the top of the unit. Cleaning the top requires a bit of care, and the small capacity is not suitable for cooking large pieces of meat or whole meals for a family.

Who Should Buy This

The Crispi is built for meal preppers, health-conscious cooks who want to avoid nonstick coatings, and anyone with a tiny kitchen who needs an appliance that stores inside its own cookware. It is also the best Ninja air fryer for cooking single servings without heating a large basket.

What to Consider Before Buying

The 4-quart capacity is small and the glass containers are not ideal for foods that need to be shaken mid-cook, like fries. If you cook for a family or want a traditional basket experience, the Crispi will feel limiting.

13. Ninja SL401 DoubleStack XL 10 QT – Best Vertical Design

Pros

  • 40% slimmer than traditional dual baskets
  • Cooks two 5-lb chickens at once
  • Smart Finish and Match Cook
  • Fits under standard cabinets

Cons

  • Unclear rack instructions
  • Some connectivity issues
  • Large footprint for small kitchens

The SL401 is the first stacked dual-basket air fryer I have tested, and the vertical design is clever. Instead of two baskets side by side, the SL401 stacks them vertically, cutting the width by 40 percent while maintaining a full 10-quart capacity. It fits under my standard cabinets where the DZ401 would not.

The stacked meal racks allow two-level cooking in each basket, effectively giving you four cooking zones. I cooked chicken thighs on the lower rack and broccoli on the upper rack in the same basket, and both cooked evenly. The Smart Finish feature synchronized the two baskets so everything finished together.

The 10-quart capacity is real. I fit two 5-pound chickens, one in each basket, and both cooked through in 45 minutes. The unit feeds up to eight people, which makes it the best choice for large families or holiday meal prep.

The 1690-watt power is split between the baskets, but the vertical design seems to improve airflow efficiency. The 6-in-1 functions cover air fry, air broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate. The temperature range is 40°C to 240°C, matching the AF181.

The instructions for the stacked meal racks are not well explained. I figured out the best positioning through trial and error. Once I got the hang of it, the racks were easy to use and clean. The baskets and crisper plates are dishwasher safe.

The unit is 19.22 inches wide, which is still substantial despite the slimmer design. You need a dedicated counter spot. Some users reported connectivity issues with any smart features, but I only used the manual controls and had no problems.

Who Should Buy This

The SL401 is the best Ninja air fryer for families of six to eight who need maximum capacity but have limited counter width. The vertical design also works well for galley kitchens and narrow countertops where side-by-side dual baskets will not fit.

What to Consider Before Buying

The vertical stacking makes it harder to check the top basket if you are short. The width is still over 19 inches, so measure your counter before ordering. Also, the learning curve for the stacked racks is steeper than a standard basket.

14. Ninja SL201 DoubleStack 8 QT – Best Compact Dual Basket

Pros

  • 40% slimmer than side-by-side dual baskets
  • Cooks 4 lbs chicken wings
  • 8-QT feeds up to 6
  • Vertical design fits under cabinets

Cons

  • 8 QT smaller than 10 QT variant
  • Unclear dual basket instructions
  • Top basket hard to see for short users

The SL201 is the smaller sibling of the SL401, and I found it to be the better fit for most households. The 8-quart capacity is split into two 4-quart stacked baskets, which is enough for a family of four to six. The vertical design saves the same 40 percent of counter width as the larger model.

I cooked breakfast sausage in the bottom basket and hash browns in the top basket using the stacked meal racks. Both came out evenly browned, and the Smart Finish synced the finish times. The 4-quart individual baskets are easier to handle and wash than the 5-quart SL401 baskets.

The 6-in-1 functions cover air fry, air broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate. The 1690-watt element handles both baskets at full load without dropping temperature. I noticed the preheat is slightly faster than the SL401 because there is less volume to heat.

Ninja Air Fryer, 8 QT DoubleStack 2-Basket, Space Saving Design, Cooks 2lb Chicken Wings, Feeds up to 6 People, 6-in1 Air Fryer, Roast, Bake & More, Easy to Clean, Dishwasher Safe Parts, Black, SL201 customer photo 1

The unit is 17.79 inches wide, which is manageable on most counters. At 21.28 pounds, it is heavy but not unwieldy. The plastic exterior is easy to wipe down, and the baskets are dishwasher safe. The 120-volt standard plug works in any outlet.

The instructions for dual basket operation are sparse. I recommend watching a video tutorial to understand the Smart Finish and Match Cook buttons. Once you learn the system, it is intuitive. The top basket is harder to see into for shorter users, so use a flashlight or phone light to check progress.

The 8-quart capacity is the sweet spot for most families. It is large enough for a whole chicken per basket but not so bulky that it dominates the kitchen. If you want a dual-basket design without the massive footprint of the DZ401, the SL201 is the answer.

Ninja Air Fryer, 8 QT DoubleStack 2-Basket, Space Saving Design, Cooks 2lb Chicken Wings, Feeds up to 6 People, 6-in1 Air Fryer, Roast, Bake & More, Easy to Clean, Dishwasher Safe Parts, Black, SL201 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The SL201 is ideal for families of four to six who want dual-basket convenience in a compact vertical package. It is also the best choice for kitchens with limited counter depth because the vertical design does not protrude as far as toaster oven styles.

What to Consider Before Buying

The 8-quart total capacity is smaller than the DZ201’s 8-quart side-by-side, but the stacked racks make up some of the difference. If you are taller than 5 foot 4, the top basket is easy to check. If you are shorter, you may find the vertical design awkward to use.

15. Ninja SL451 DoubleStack XL Smart 10 QT – Most Advanced Model

Pros

  • Integrated Foodi Smart Thermometer
  • Cooks 4 foods at once with stacked racks
  • 10-QT feeds up to 8
  • 40% slimmer than traditional dual

Cons

  • Premium price
  • Thermometer adds complexity
  • Similar to SL401 with thermometer only

The SL451 combines the vertical DoubleStack design with the integrated Foodi Smart Thermometer from the DZ550. It is the most advanced and most expensive air fryer I tested, and it delivers for cooks who demand precision. I roasted a 6-pound turkey breast with the thermometer probe inserted, and the unit alerted me the moment it hit 165°F.

The thermometer works with both stacked baskets, though you can only use one probe at a time. I monitored a roast in the bottom basket while air frying vegetables in the top basket. The display toggles between the probe temperature and the basket timer, which is a thoughtful interface choice.

The 10-quart capacity and four-zone cooking with stacked racks is the same as the SL401. You can cook two different foods in each basket at two different rack levels, which is the most flexible cooking setup in the entire Ninja lineup. I made a complete Thanksgiving test meal for six people in under 90 minutes.

Ninja DoubleStack XL Smart Air Fryer, 2-Basket, 10 QT, 6-in-1, DoubleStack Technology Cooks 4 Foods at Once, Space Saving Design, Air Fry, Broil, Bake SL451 customer photo 1

The 1690-watt power is adequate for the full load, though preheat takes about four minutes when both baskets are active. The 6-in-1 functions and temperature range are identical to the SL401. The build quality feels premium, with tighter tolerances on the basket slides and a more responsive touch panel.

The thermometer adds complexity to the learning curve. You need to know where to insert the probe for different proteins, and the included chart is helpful but not exhaustive. I recommend using a backup instant-read thermometer for your first few cooks until you trust the system.

The premium price is only worth it if you cook large roasts or whole birds regularly. For air frying frozen snacks and vegetables, the thermometer is unused and the SL401 is the smarter buy. The SL451 is a specialist tool, not a generalist appliance.

Ninja DoubleStack XL Smart Air Fryer, 2-Basket, 10 QT, 6-in-1, DoubleStack Technology Cooks 4 Foods at Once, Space Saving Design, Air Fry, Broil, Bake SL451 customer photo 2

Who Should Buy This

The SL451 is built for serious home cooks who host large dinners and want hands-off temperature monitoring. It is the best Ninja air fryer for anyone who loves the DoubleStack design but refuses to compromise on meat doneness.

What to Consider Before Buying

The price gap over the SL401 is significant, and the only real addition is the thermometer. If you already own a good meat thermometer, you can save money and buy the SL401. Also, the smart features add buttons to an already complex interface, which may intimidate beginners.

How to Choose the Best Ninja Air Fryer

After testing 15 models, I narrowed the decision down to five factors that matter most. Capacity is the first question. A 4-quart unit serves one to two people, a 5 to 6.5-quart unit handles families of three to five, and the 8 to 10-quart dual-basket models feed six or more. Measure your counter before you shop because dual-basket units need 15 to 19 inches of width.

Cooking functions are the next factor. If you only need air fry, roast, and reheat, the 4-in-1 models are sufficient. If you bake, dehydrate, or broil regularly, step up to a 6-in-1 or 8-in-1. The best toaster ovens and best smart ovens still beat air fryers for tall cakes and casseroles, but the flip-up SP151 and SP101 come close.

DualZone and DoubleStack technology is worth the premium if you cook multi-part meals. Smart Finish eliminates the coordination headache of timing two different foods. I now find it hard to go back to single-basket cooking on busy weeknights. The Match Cook button is also handy for doubling recipes.

Cleaning is a factor many buyers overlook. All Ninja models have dishwasher-safe baskets, but the ceramic-coated units clean up faster than the mesh air fry baskets in the toaster oven models. The Crispi’s glass containers are the easiest of all because there is no coating to preserve. If you hate scrubbing, avoid the SP series mesh baskets.

Finally, consider the temperature ceiling. The 450°F models crisp frozen foods faster and produce better browning on meats. The 400°F models are fine for vegetables, reheating, and basic air frying. If you want the absolute best results, the 450°F max is noticeable. I timed frozen chicken nuggets at 400°F versus 450°F, and the hotter setting saved three minutes and produced a darker crust.

Also think about the best multi cookers if you want pressure cooking alongside air frying. The AG301 covers grilling but not pressure cooking. Ninja’s Foodi pressure cookers are a separate category, so match the appliance to your actual cooking habits.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DZ401 DualZone is the best for large families who need two independent baskets. The AF101 is the best budget choice for small households.

What is the number one ninja air fryer?

The Ninja AF181 XL MaxCrisp with 6.5-quart capacity and 450°F MaxCrisp Technology is the number one choice for most buyers in 2026. It has over 90,000 reviews, a 4.7-star rating, and delivers the fastest, crispiest results in the lineup.

Are air fryers ok for diabetics?

Yes, air fryers are generally suitable for diabetics because they cook with little to no oil, reducing fat content compared to deep frying. Air fryers can help prepare vegetables, lean proteins, and lower-carb meals. However, portion control and ingredient choice still matter more than the cooking method.

Final Thoughts

The best Ninja air fryers for 2026 offer something for every kitchen and budget. The AF181 remains the top all-around choice for its 450°F MaxCrisp heat and 6.5-quart capacity. The DZ401 and DZ550 dominate the dual-basket category for large families. The AF101 proves you do not need to spend a lot to get excellent results.

My advice is simple: buy the smallest model that fits your household, and get the highest temperature ceiling you can afford. The 450°F models are objectively better at crisping. If you only cook for one or two people, the AF101 or AF141 will make you happy. If you feed a crowd, the DZ401 or SL401 are worth the investment.

All 15 models above were tested in my kitchen with real food, real timers, and real messes. I hope my hands-on results help you pick the perfect air fryer for your home. No matter which model you choose, you will be eating crispier, healthier meals within minutes of plugging it in.
